As Jason and Heidi Bourgeois walked along the upper level of the MGM Grand at Foxwoods Saturday afternoon, they were distracted by an unlikely sight.
Below them on the outdoor ice skating rink, former Boston Bruins players Bob Miller and Tom Songin were cutting across the surface.
“We saw them skating through the window, and I said, ‘we’re going down there,’ ” Jason Bourgeois, of Massachusetts, said. “We’re big Bruins fans.”
For a few hours Saturday, the aura of the National Hockey League came to the casino, as Miller and Songin joined former Hartford Whalers players Alan Hangsleben, Doug Roberts and Garry Swain for a skate-around and autograph session.
